The database covers gases, flammable liquids, flammable solids, substances liable to spontaneous combustion, water-reactive substances, oxidising substances, organic peroxides, toxic substances, corrosive substances and a limited selection of ADR Class 9 substances.

Interactive search function

The built-in search function allows users to select two substances or substance groups. The tool immediately shows whether the combination is included in the database and displays the potential reaction, severity, primary hazards, reaction products, relevant conditions and recommended control measures.

For example, the tool shows that contact between a hypochlorite solution and an acid may rapidly release highly toxic chlorine gas. It also includes combinations that can generate hydrogen cyanide, hydrogen sulphide, phosphine, hydrogen or shock-sensitive and explosive compounds.

This product must therefore be used as a professional screening and assessment tool. Always consult the current Safety Data Sheets, particularly Sections 7 and 10, and obtain advice from a competent chemical safety professional where necessary.

A combination not being included in the database does not mean that the substances are compatible or may safely be stored together. The tool must never be used as authorisation to mix chemicals or experimentally test a combination.
